Elite Sports Training offers private baseball lessons for players of all ages. Private lessons are individualized half-hour and hour sessions with an experienced instructor and are available to those who want to improve their hitting, catching, pitching, fielding or a combination of them all.

Hitting Instructor

Jay Alexander spent seventeen (17) years coaching college baseball, most notably as Head Baseball Coach at Eastern Michigan University and Wayne State University. Jay served on the rules committee for all of the college baseball, All-American committee, and he was North Central Regional Chair. In addition, he coached two seasons with Team USA-TOS 18-under division and was a part of two gold medal-winning teams.

 

Jay Alexander is a proven leader with a history of developing student-athletes to reach their full potential. He has produced over 32 free agent signees and Major League Baseball draft picks in his tenure. He was one of three African American Head Baseball Coaches in the country (excluding Historically Black Institutions). Alexander was named Coach of the Year twice, his teams qualified for the NCAA Division II Regional Championship (one game away from the DII College World Series) and has over 300 NCAA victories.

 

In all, Alexander has coached freshmen of the year, players of the year, All-American players, All-Conference selections, and most importantly has landed hundreds of student-athletes on the All-Academic squad. Alexander has trained or helped players at all levels and has been a speaker in front of his peers at the American Baseball Coaches Association annual convention. Jay is a leader in his community. His teams continually lead the way in community service throughout the athletic community averaging over 2,000 hours of volunteer service per academic year. He is a leader of young men. He is known for being high energy, passionate, and a very good recruiter. He is a mentor to young men a “player's coach”, and he develops and rebuilds programs.

Joey Pejaun

Hitting/Fielding Instructor

Joey PeJuan is a Hitting/Fielding Instructor Graduating from Allen Park High School in 2016, Joey was recruited to play Baseball at Schoolcraft College. Joey played two years at Schoolcraft earning All-MCCAA Honorable mention and making the All-Region 12 team.

 

Joey is in his senior year at Madonna University studying Sports Management and a part of the Baseball team as an outfielder. Previously Joey was an assistant coach for Southwest Aztecs Elite teams and an employee of PRB Michigan Showcase.

 

Joey will be offering personal instruction and private lessons at Elite Sports Training in all areas as well as helping with facilitating day-to-day operations at Elite Sports.

Joe Williams

Hitting/Fielding/Catching Instructor

Joe Williams Hitting/Fielding/Catching Instructor Graduating from Livonia Churchill High School in 2011, Joe was recruited to play Baseball at Siena Heights University where he played various positions such as 3rd Base,1st Base, and Catcher.

​

Joe played four years at Siena Heights earning many awards including; All-WHAC Conference Team, All-WHAC Honorable Mention, Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete (2 times), Academic AllWHAC (3 times), and Thomas Emmet Award (Best Scholar-Athlete in Conference). Joe graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Studies and Physical Education.

 

He is a current Dearborn Public School teacher and a head coach for Varsity Baseball and Golf. Joe brings a lot of coaching experience to Elite Sports Training as he has been part of the DBacks organizations coaching and providing lessons for more than 6 years.

 

Joe is the current head coach of the 13u DBacks Elite team. Joe’s goal is to focus on player development. He strives to make connections with the players and keep them engaged and working hard to see growth and results.

Orlando Martinez

Catching Instruction

Orlando Martinez Catching Instructor Orlando Martinez has worked with a number of top baseball players Michigan, Illinois, and Canada. Orlando is a detailed trainer that believes in the measurables and improving them every session.

 

He uses the latest technology and training to develop quality competitive players. Orlando's specialty is developing catchers both baseball and softball.

 

Orlando is part of the DBacks Elite staff as the 16U DBacks Elite national team assistant coach, as well as the Catching Coach at Schoolcraft College.
